The three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Penyghent dominate the landscape, and provide a challenge for the walker. The arches of Ribblehead viaduct along the famous Settle to Carlisle railway add a dramatic foreground to many views. Ribblesdale has more than its fair share of waterfalls, the notable Ingleton Glens waterfalls walk along the rivers Twiss and Doe has several spectacular falls.
Show caves display some of the underground wonderland that can be found under the vast areas of limestone pavements here, or a short walk takes you to Victoria cave, once occupied by stoneage men. The experienced potholer can find more difficult challenges in the many miles of cave extending from Gaping Ghyll.
Ribblesdales historical market towns and villages are filled with many interesting shops. There are many cafes, pubs and restaurants available for refreshments after a day of walking, shopping and visiting museums. With so much to see and do in Ribblesdale a holiday spent here has something to please all the family.
