The A684 Hawes to Sedbergh road passes through the narrow valley of Garsdale in Cumbria and forms part of the northwest corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Garsdale has no towns or villages, the houses and farms of this rural community being scattered along its length. The main focal point of Garsdale is called The Street and lies 9 km (six miles) east of Sedbergh and 16km (ten miles) west of Hawes.

Another area of population is at Garsdale Head, referred to as Hawes Junction, a branch from Wensleydale to the Settle-Carlisle railway.
